This goes a little further. What do you smoke, and by that I mean what other means of smoking do you utilise? For me, I love pipes and cigars, but sometimes, just for this quick smoke taste I'd smoke a cigarette or cigarillo.

Disclaimer: I thought of adding that, when I'm smoking cigarettes I don't inhale the smoke, and I just smoke them for the flavor.

I quit cigarettes 30 years ago. Went to pipes when my father-in-law died and left me all his pipes and a boat load of Amphora Red because I was the only smoker in the family.
I've smoked a lot of marijuana in my life but quit that about 20 years ago. Since then I've only smoked pipes daily and a cigar about 1-2 times a week.

Honestly I snus and snuff more then smoke. But I smoke a few pipes a day. I'd probably smoke more if it was allowed everywhere.
I do like cigars but not at that price. It just doesn't make sense when I like pipes much more.
And I loath cigs. Used to roll cigs. several brands but mainly drum until they switched owners and American Spirits. Always bought the big cans.

Although I smoked cigarettes for over 35 years, since switching to a pipe over 11 years ago I think the smell of cig smoke is rank.

Now I smoke most genres of pipe tobacco and a few bowls of cannabis to treat chronic nerve pain and inflammation [At least I've now got a legitimate excuse to smoke the really good stuff puffy ]

Although I do love a good cigar, I avoid them for fear of becoming addicted to the much higher nicotine level compared to the pipe blends that I smoke.

Yeah cig smoke is rank. The first two things I noticed when I stopped smoking them was first that I could breath again including running for the bus and not feeling a fire in my chest. The second thing was how horrible cigs smell. Like oh you smoked one and you smell that terrible. Oh god I smelled like that. Oh and the return of my sense of taste and smell.

I've found cigars to be much less of a hard hitter than pipes, though once you get to the large vitolas that changes. If I remember correctly, cigar tobacco pound per pound has less nicotine because it is aged so long.

The nicotine content of cigars is something that I've been meaning to look into [Did not know that nicotine deteriorates/weakens with age - or does that have more to do with a change in pH levels?]

When I smoked cigarettes I often smoked a good cigar once a week.
When I attended weddings I'd usually bring a dozen cigars to smoke with the groom and best man. [What amused me was how after a few drinks, even non-smokers would sidle up beside me to ask for a cigar. The most common comment was they were surprised that a cigar could smell so good]

Most here have read of the troubles that Aussie smokers have acquiring tobacco at reasonable price.
The new laws regarding the import of tobacco does not apply to cigars, so I've been intending to ask if there's cigar brands that are known for mild nicotine levels that I could use as a blending tobacco.

Exactly like you, including the non-inhaling thing with the cigarettes on the very seldom occasions I have one.

I've dipped in and out of cigarettes, but they're expensive and I don't really enjoy them.

These day's I try to keep it to just pipes and the very occasional cigar. The last cigar I had though was over a year ago now.

I've smoked pipes only for the last 14 years.
Before that roll ups.
But in my teens I'd often buy a pack of 20 Disque Bleu and chain smoke the whole lot.
Tailor-made cigarettes have a staggering 300+ added chemicals, some of which are addictive.
I've not been able to find any info on what's added to RYO tobacco, if any.

Often when a tailor-made smoker bums a RYO, it usually does not satisfy their craving.
That's because RYO don't have any of the added addictive chemicals.

Over 11 years ago I switched from a 30-40 a day tailor-made cigarette addiction to a pipe.
Cold turkey attempts were white knuckle torture for me but switching to a pipe wasn't so bad because psychologically, puffing on a pipe was better than nothing.

How was your experience switching from RYO to a pipe?

Smoked cigarettes and kreteks, but gave them up in the early '70s. I now find the smell (esp stale) of cigarettes very off-putting.
Then pipes for @ 15years. Stopped all forms of smoking while the boys were growing up.
Cigars exclusively for 15 years from 2000, then back to pipes 3 years ago.
I've been enjoying my pipes and pipe tobacco so much that cigars are a monthly occurrence at most.
