North Carolina has a pottery district down near the state zoo, a town called Seaboard, which is interesting because it is in no way coastal. It has dozens of potters' studios and kilns, and over the years I have accumulated quite a bit of their work, including two pottery bowls I used to dry and sometimes mix blends of tobacco. They give the process a touch of art and tradition.
Seagrove ;-)
Great little area with magnificent artists!

I repurposed a tin for an ash tray and use the lid to dry tobacco as needed. Most I just load direct and for that I place the bowl of the pipe in this lid so any tobacco that misses the bowl can be saved.

I want a leather tray (and matching leather pipe stand). Until I get one, I make do with a sheet of junk mail paper. I have an unending supply of them. Just when I think I'm out, my friendly postal delivery person brings me more. Uncle Sam is so giving and no one gives him any credit!
