Just wondering about the diversity here. I'll go first. I'm a former math teacher and now work in Educational Technology marketing. What about you?

Writer and editor, in service of environmental health as a day job, now retired, but ongoing writer of literary and other work. Job titles included News Director and later Policy Analyst. Early in my career I actually had the title Public Affairs Specialist, ha. I started publishing literary work when I was about sixteen. I did a children's book for the organization that is still in use. A short-short story collection by a university press was in print for many years, unrelated to my day job.

Spent 27 years as a news photographer and photo editor. Uber driver now....lol. Don't miss the long hours and low pay in the news business, but it was a fun way to spend my youth and a great way to meet women.

I use the search function!

That's the most recent. There seems to be one started every 8 months or so.
What a relief! Starting a conversation is such a chore these days, and just so old school. I was very nervous and really it felt a bit unnatural. Thank goodness there's a way here to not be social and stalk others conversation without being noticed at all. You know, how being human should be.

Music teacher and aspiring voice actor with delusions of grandeur here. Also a bit of a minor british pipe enthusiast
I'm also an aspiring voice actor, really voice over artist. But not really because I don't even know how to find work. I run my company podcast, that's about it. But I hear my voice is a radio voice so I feel maybe there is something there.

It's one of those things where I've had to hustle to find good work. I'm lucky enough to have a couple nearby radio stations that do regional commercials. I have higher aspirations but had a nasty vocal injury from overuse on a singing gig (vocal fold hemorrhage isn't fun) so I've not been able to take advantage due to the long healing time.

Very cool. I admire writers of literature. I'm good for marketing purposes with delusions that I'd be a good longer form writer. I gave it go in the past and I just don't have the long game in me I think. I like to impact and move on. Could be the problem with my marriages now that I think of it..

Been in IT for well over 10 years, currently on a little over 5 year tenure as an engineer for a large supply chain company. It's not a field I particularly like or dislike but something I feel into and it pays well enough so I can't complain. I had thought I was going to write the Great American Novel then woke up one day to find myself a timeclock punching printer repairman.
