What Do You Do with Residual Crumbs?

When I get to the bottom of a tin there may be a bit of tobacco left that is not adequate to fill a bowl. Should I
1. Dump it into the next tin even if it is not the same blend
2. Start a can of scraps, mixing everything together until I have a full tin
3. Toss it

I used to toss it but I've recently started dumping it into a jar. Once I get enough of various scraps combined for a bowl I'm going to smoke it just to see what it's like.

I use my old match boxes. Once I have a bowl, I smoke it. I mix and match, but also save like with like.

I do a scraps jar, or if blend was heavily scented/aromatic, I’ve put a few burley leaves in it for a few weeks to soak up the aroma

I can't remember. But when I saved enough dottle and tried to smoke it, it was foul. This abridged my pipe smoking good sense. Being from the bottom of the bowl with that entire bowl's smoke drawn down through it, it should have been noticeably stronger and more flavorful. But no, it was nasty!

I usually either smoke a partial bowl of what's left or top the bowl off with a similar blend into 1 bowl.
Maybe it's my OCD but I like to keep my blends pure in my jars or tins.

I dump them into a tobacco pouch which i carry for smoking on the hoof. I'll also occasionally top that up from a new tin of different tobacco when I fancy a change. Can make the smoke unpredictable but never boring

When I'm not smoking on the hoof I'll fill my pipe straight from the tin and not mix the dregs.

This is funny, because I've noticed that some tobaccos are marketed as being good for blending, and my first thought was "right, like the hobbyist is going to do better than the makers" but then I realized that it's just like the way that I mix breakfast cereals. So count me in for option two. And I'm gonna add some marshmallows from my Lucky Charms stash.

The last bit in the tin is usually just dust. If you collect enough dust to fill a bowl, that bowl will not smoke well. The dust will be too compressed to get a good draw and you'll get lots of it in your mouth as well.
I use mine to sprinkle on top of whatever I'm smoking next. Works as kindling.

Depends. If it's OTC, it goes into next pouch. If it's others, either added into similar blend or get tossed.

This never happens to me. It seems like there is always enough/not enough tobacco in the tin to fit in a whole number of bowls.

If dust, on top of the next bowl of whatever. If usable tobacco, goes in pouch or jar of compatible blend.

I used to keep it along with other scraps of tobacco but some kind of OCD took over and now it drives me nuts to not know exactly what I'm smoking. I get rid of it.

I usually dump it into the plants, at one point I was and still have a ball jar filled of tobacco that didn't fit and maybe some day I will press it into a plug but these days I am pretty good at judging how much fits in the pipe and the few stands get dumped into the nearby plant.
