Illusione Epernay Le Petit -- surprisingly strong little bastid. Interesting that it's listed as 'medium' -- I would've said full for sure. My wife found the (distant) aroma of this one absolutely intolerable.

That's strange since the Epernays are supposed to be on the more medium side. Maybe it's the size. Illusione is kind of famous for all the cigars in their core "original documents" line being a bit tweaked for each size and maybe that's true for Epernays as well. Or maybe it's hard to get that consistency year after year. Bummer. Does your wife normally tolerate cigar smoke?

Arturo Fuente 858 Maduro. Man, I remember back in the late '80s when Fuente was one of the few good cigars we could get. These things are still good. Simple, sweet cedar, some coffee, some cocoa, & natural tobacco. Just a solid and enjoyable every day smoke at a great price.

I prefer an 858 Maduro over most of the expensive, top-shelf maduros out there. It just tastes so exquisitely ripe to me.
