Also curious to know about McClelland - a year or so ago things were getting a little crazy on the pricing front. Have things calmed down now on that front? I have a fair stash of Mc lends but it was getting to the point that the prices of some of the stuff in my stash was getting so high that I was starting to wonder whether I should really smoke the stuff. I mean, I really enjoy their blends, but there are many that are readily available that I enjoy just as much and are much cheaper.
I might consider buying some of their stuff, if it wasn't for the fact that I can buy a tin for less then 20 bucks of something that really blows my socks off.

Peck, I got a tip about a month before the official notice. As you know I cannot smoke MC Reds. I did try a tin of Butera Dark Stoved which is made with Lemon virginia's. I grabbed a tin and liked it, very similar to Dark Star. So I went on the hunt, stopped at 140 tins. Some may have your name on them if some of your Parks pipes are in the game, or maybe some other trinket you may have, even some rrads, Or maybe you would like to pay market price of 50 a tin, but I would much rather trade so I can bend you over and rob you which would really work for me.

As you know, some of the "discontinued" Dunhill blends returned with essentially the same contract blender and tin art, but under the Peterson label. I've been reminding people ever since how I told 'em those blends would continue because the money men don't leave money on the table. So far, people don't sound revolted over the new/old versions. Some blends aren't back yet, like Durbar and London Mixture, but the six or eight majors are.

Do you know when they were they discontinued? I picked up a tin of Dunhill EMP about 5 weeks ago and when I’ve finished it, I’m going to try the Peterson EMP I bought a couple of weeks ago. I’m hoping it’s much the same but I’m wondering how old the Dunhill tin was when I opened it.

Because of our recent turbulent history, I can't remember exactly when the Dunhill blends re-emerged under the Peterson label, but I'm guessing it was about a year ago. Anyone have an exact date ... or month?

2018 was when they sold the blends to Peterson, if the info I just found via Google is correct.

EDIT: And I found an article saying they started making them under the Peterson brand in November of last year. They (STG) also said this in the article:

“These are 100 percent the exact same blends that consumers have been smoking for years. From a Food and Drug Administration (FDA) standpoint, we had to keep them the same.”

So maybe that means they won’t soon disappear in the USA?

Lots of new members, so true. I think there are three or four introductions of new members every day. The historical membership must go into the tens of thousands by now, but rate of new members has skyrocketed. Many or most don't post much, but some do. The usual increment of trolls and spammers, but that's not new. I'm hoping Forums will remain a hotbed of pipe smoking even as regulations bungle up the availability of blends.

Chasingembers what's the big deal with Weaver pipes?

The late Bruce Weaver was a meticulous and innovative American pipe maker and I am privileged to have 2 of his pipes. They are effing gorgeous and are perfect smokers.

That being said, Bruce was a friend of @chasingembers and he has a slew of them. He's not shy about showing anyone his collection of anything so sit tight and you will see some wonderful pieces made by Bruce. rotf

If you are lucky enough to find one and can afford it, I highly recommend you picking it up.
