Hey what’s up with the Cigar TAD? Only 2 pages, aren’t you guys buying anything to post for us to look at?
That post looks so sad, I want to see goodies!
Not only pics, but where people are buying at, latest goodies happening blah blah blah…
Ahhh where’s all the stogie talk at!
Photos in this thread welcome. Thus starts a new thread in a new year. I just found it funny, as much as a pipe geek/nerd that I am, my first TAD purchase for the new year are cigars. LOL 😝 I’ve been actually thinking to pull the plug and get some stogies for quite some time, haven’t smoked...

To be honest, the Pipe TAD and Cigar TAD threads don’t hold a lot of interest for me. I take a peek once in awhile, but seeing boxes of tins or sampler packs other people bought isn’t terribly compelling on its own, with the rare exception of seeing some ancient tin score. I regularly check this thread and WAYS to see what fellow members are smoking; with WAYS, even though it’s in the “Pipe Tobacco Discussion” section, what is most interesting in many ways, is the pipe porn—I enjoy seeing what the tobacco is being smoked in almost more than what they are smoking; on a related note, because that is a pipe tobacco thread, I dislike seeing cigars in that thread unless they’re in a pipe or cheroot holder—cigars belong in this thread, not WAYS.
A lot of my cigar purchases occurred before the new Cigar TAD thread you started (well, the one that got converted into a TAD thread). I have about ten desktop cigar humidors and one 300 count footlocker humidor—I tend to buy cigars I like by the box; they get unwrapped and stored in those humidors. When I buy sampler packs or one offs, they go in a humidor as well and I post them here when I smoke them. These days, I smoke cigars in the warmer weather on my porch, so I’m something of a seasonal cigar smoker and smoke my pipes year round in the house. I try to smoke through what I have on hand before restocking, so my purchases can be infrequent.
I attended CIGARfest in-person in 2018 and 2019 (a great experience each time) and bought the accompanying bundles, which were essentially sixty-five (plus) different cigars. COVID canceled the next two or three and the event became a much less interesting in-store event. I continued to buy the bundles, but after smoking everything in the 2022 bundle and only finding one exceptional cigar, I ended up skipping the 2023 one. I was glad to try the various cigars, and for what I got for the price, a great bargain. But, I decided that I might be better off just buying boxes of cigars I loved instead of just having a decent, average cigar.
