Is that the Rosado 858? That wrapper looks so red, it sure passes for one in the picture.

Smoking from a box I bought to celebrate professional milestones. I had a fantastic "right time/right place" interview with a former employer today, and it sounds like we're continuing the conversation next week. I didn't sense any sticker shock from them, so we shall see where the chips fall. I might have to smoke another of these soon!

At almost 5 years old, these cigars are transforming into something very special. There's a deep candy- and berry-type of sweetness developing that was definitely not present when I smoked the first couple from this box. I would put an aged Opus against just about anything from Cuba or anywhere else for that matter. There are definitely cigars as good and as complex, but from there it's a matter of preference as to what is better than something else. Fuente construction is usually top notch, especially on their higher end brands, which I cannot say for Cuba.

Congratulations: I hope that the next interview goes as well as this one!

I've never tried the Opus X, but hope to some day. I saw a box at a B&M in March, but the sticker shock kept me away: $40 is too much for me to spend on one cigar.

No cigar is worth $40 to me, unless I'm on vacation and visibly intoxicated. Opus is a great cigar, but needs at least a few years of age; otherwise, it's a waste as they're far too peppery and earthy when young. How I started was finding them at MSRP of ~ $15-20 and buying a few every year. I've now got enough at old enough to smoke a few every year.

The Fuente Añejo is a great bargain in comparison. I just re-upped my supply last year with about 20 of them as I had smoked my last aged one. I think I have an Añejo 48 hidden at the bottom of my cooler that may be ready to smoke, but after that, I'm waiting another few years to enjoy my next Añejo, unless I find some aged ones for sale on secondary.

Ah it's just a humble Petite Corona from the Gran Reserva line. Maybe the reds on my tools are messing with the picture color...
Here we are on a more neutral background

I've been real happy with Fuente, these are nice little smokes that honestly go for an hour for me

Congratulations on your interview/ meeting!! Best wishes for whatever comes next

And thanks for sharing your thoughts and experience with the Opus line. So far I have not yet sampled from those Pussycats I got earlier this summer...

More music and smoke 💨

I found Amazon USA is running a buy 3 pay for 2 promo for Vinyl (and other media). What Amazon does, other retail copy: Target is running the same promo. I promptly placed an order for 9 albums (6 from Amazon and 3 from Target). Good thing about Target: If your local store has it, you can go pick it up

I downloaded the album you posted in WAYS yesterday and listened to it most of the morning along with other similar artists. Thank for sharing!
