Punch Gran Puro Nicaragua. When I first tried it 3-4 years ago I was not impressed. I decided to try it again a few months ago, and now it is one of the cigars I look forward to the most.

Trying out the new Penn Standard, a cigarpage exclusive, in the 5.6”x46 vitola which is a bit unusual for me. Something about the cigar and vitola really piqued my interest. I was expecting a deep gritty earth profile, but instead am surprised by a prominent cedary sweetness. Interesting…

Perfect draw and gobs of smoke. It’ll be interesting to see if some humidor time changes these. Overall, an enjoyable cigar at a very reasonable $3.50 ish per stick.

Liga Privada H99. Only half a dozen years after they were first announced, I actually saw one in the wild. Was it discovered at one of they many great cigar shops in San Diego? Nah, I found it when I stepped in to a head shop next door to a Hawaiian Bbq joint where I was waiting on my food to grab a lighter... a beautiful wrapper. Like a Rrosado colorado bordering on maduro
