Visited a B&M in Miami for some local cigars. I got one and promised the owner that if I like it, will come back for more.
This shop is very expensive- specially because I am used to online prices. However I wanted to try out an Opus X, and they had one, so I paid a lot to take one back home.
I haven't had an Opus X in a very long time. Years ago, they were plagued by very tight draws. I didn't find them worth the high cost, especially when there are so many tasty cigars available at a fraction of the price.
You made me envious today lolHoyo de Monterrey du Gourmet. R.I.P.

I got the Opus X Destino Al Siglo in a Maduro wrapper.I've always liked Opus X. They are very "old world," however in that they have a tighter draw like most Cuban cigars do, and they require appreciable aging (5+ years) before they lose their overtly earthy nature and the true profile begins to open up. Shame they jacked the prices yet again - they were already at about my maximum price, so I guess after I get through this box and handful of singles I have, it's back to the Añejo. I like the Dominican wrapper better on the Opus, but the binder and filler are the same/incredibly similar.

Yes. That’s the one.Yellow band around the foot? If so, those used to be extremely rare - I believe the wrapper is Dominican-grown Maduro wrapper, which is a very difficult leaf to produce. The DR does not grow good wrapper leaf, generally.
