Basically dark fired is burley and so is perique. VaPers are actually VaBurs. ?I don't consider blends with dark fired in them to be VaBurs. To me, those are all VaPers.
I vote for Solani Silver Flake.
Actually, it has it's own classification. We had a tobacco farmer, jitterbug, that would always argue this... I guess I could pick up his torch and carry forward with it, but I just don't want to put forth the effort, ha ha.
But, it is closer to a Virginia (flu cured) variety.

HU Dockworker, MB Golden Extra, Old Dark Fired, Bold Kentucky and Brunello Flake to name a few. Solani 660 Silver Flake is great but I think has some DFK in it.

You and CosmicFolklore both mentioned MB Golden Extra. I'll have to give that a try.
But don't Old Dark Fired and Bold Kentucky also have a large proportion of Dark Fired Kentucky too?
Yes, and is why I didn't mention those and Hoos did. Maybe. Well, actually the real reason I didn't mention those is because I don't like them, ha ha. Too monochromatic for me. YMMV

My favorite Virginia/Burley/Kentucky are the following. All of these are in my cellar and I am only listing the ones that are readily available. I am not listing the hard to finds like Esoterica Stonehaven.
Solani 660 Silver Flake....needs to be jarred right away it does not come vacuum sealed.

Yes they do. And if you try Golden Extra, I'd recommend aging it at least a year or two. It really improved with age for me.
I may have. I know that when I pop a jar, I usually jave a hard time finishing it, so adding things to it helps for me.
I enjoy MB Golden Blend/Extra fresh out of the pouch, I can imagine what Hoosierpipeguy says about aging it.
HH Burley Flake. Burley, Virginia, Kentucky. An enjoyable, straight forward blend that doesn’t get boring.
You and Cosmic were the ones who tipped me off to Pegasus. Great stuff. I've enjoyed Old Joe Krantz White too, but that has Burley, Perique, Cavendish and Virginia. Old Joe Krantz Blue looks like it's just Burley and VA's.
I have to second (third?) Pegasus. I typically do not like C&D blends; I can count the ones I enjoy on one hand. Pegasus, however, is a clear winner and I have not found anything currently available that is exactly like it.
