Yeah he could definitely play a bit! In the documentary it shows you footage of George Bush senior's inaugaration ball and Atwater was on stage playing guitar with (among others) Ronnie Wood from the Stones.
Although he was on the opposite side from me politically speaking Lee was definitely a character and he knew the dark arts of how to win elections.
Karl Rove was friends with him and you can see he took some plays from the same book.

Watched the Scorsese documentary this evening on Dylan's Rolling Thunder Revue tour.

It's not real often I can say a film is much better than I hoped it would be, but this one definitely was.
