An Agatha Christie type murder mystery comedy set in the Whitehouse. When all production disciplines (direction, writing, cinematography, casting, costumes, sets, etc.) are firing on all cylinders, this is what you get. Basically a near perfect piece of cinematic fiction. The first 1 to 2 episodes start off slow, but if you stick with it, it's impossible to not completely swoon over the master craftsmanship of storytelling on display.
Given the setting in which the story takes place, it would have been very easy to have alienated half the viewers, but the writers never take the bait. Most importantly, the final episode pays off, something rarely achieved in this day and age. It's all just good fun and the concluding theme is actually positive and uplifting. Just can't recommend this series enough.
The research put into Whitehouse staff and operations is so good. You really have a hard time believing this wasn't actually shot on location. It almost feels like a documentary times. Just really fascinating.
