Savinelli Tortuga 106 with some Riverboat Gambler. Drinking a terrible cup of coffee, wife bought this gross coffee I'm trying not to let it bother me.
I’ve learned I have to have complete control over my coffee, buying, brewing, etc. wife just doesn’t share the same idea of “good, strong coffee” 😂

A quarter of the way through this bowl of ear 2024 Edward G. Robinson's Pipe Blend in a 2014 Basil Meadows smooth slight bend squashed tomato with an aluminum band and a black pearl acrylic stem in the military mount style. Fed all the cats, which took a little more time than usual. Tomato the Brave is extra hyper today, batting toys around, attacking the cardboard box, and my feet. Ice water and bergs is my drink. Watching the Braves-Tigers game which I'll put on pause when I walk.

I am surprised at the number of responses to this post. I mentioned something about this a while back and no one seemed interested. Strange!

So, for those who are interested... First; keep in mind it costs you nothing to try this, so if you don't like the results no big deal.

Here's how I do it. I let the dottle build up in my ashtray for about a week then I take the ashtray, a kitchen strainer and an empty tobacco can out in the the back yard. Next I check the wind. I want a light breeze and I note the direction. Now, I pour some of the dottle in the strainer and, standing up wind, I shake the strainer so the fine ash comes out the bottom and is blown away by the breeze. I continue to do this until no more ash comes out. What remains is smokeable tobacco. I repeat this with more till I've done all the dottle and it's in the tobacco can.

Next is smoking it. I have my system and you can use yours. I take a fresh pipe and fill it about a quarter up with fresh tobacco. I don't want the dottle at the bottom because if can clog the draft hole. Then I fill it with dottle almost to the brim and top it off with more fresh tobacco to act as kindling in helping to get the pipe burning. Because the dottle and fresh tobacco are the same, I don't even notice when the burn goes from one to the other. That's it. A tip: Don't let you're wife see you using her strainer.... puffy

I've been stirring the bowl at the end after removing the ashes. Usually I just relight it right away.

Sitting out by the fire pit after church with an Extra Vecchio in my Nautilus while our house is being pressure washed.

For those that remember my depressing news from back in June, I've now got a job lined up for the day my layoff is finalized in October with my current job! Our house goes on the market 10/5 and we've bought a nice home that was built in '74 with about 7a of land. It's still in West TN but needs darn near a full gut and reno inside.

Positive things here are as follows:
- I'll be ~15min from my new job (which requires no major travel).
- New employer is on their 5th generation of family ownership and things like "you're not allowed to miss your kids games" or "you're entitled to a schedule that allowes you to attend church" being said at the interview make me feel great about the job.
- We're moving in with my sister-in-law while we renovate so no major headache or living expenses for a bit.
- Though I'm taking a significant pay cut, if we get what we're asking and keep the renovation on budget, we should be debt-free when all is said and done.
- We'll be a stone's throw away from my in-laws (who are amazing) so the kiddos stay close to their grands.
- This house has a small basement that my wife has assigned as my lounge so I won't be out on a comfortable place to smoke next summer/winter.

God is good, all the time! Even though the stress this summer has been heavy on our family, things are falling into line and it feels wonderful!

Aro english blend of different cuts and flakes. Pressed 1/2 lb Newminster English luxus for a week. Then cube cut it and added to an equal weight of newminster optimal choice ribbon cut. Added a 1/4 lb of Newminster superior round flakes and lancer slices. Sealed tight and heated up. Close maybe to Bagpippers dream minus the cognac

No kidding. And I just want it to taste like coffee. A good coffee. My wife bought this carmel coffee and it taste like hot sugar water. Now considering she paid for it and went to the store and bought it and she a good woman, I just stay quiet. But this ain't coffee. I'm gonna have to go out later and pick some up though cause I'm hurting today.
