Enjoyed a great weekend with my son, some of the fathers from our men's group and their boys camping at Fort Pillow State Park.

After getting settled on Friday, I cracked a tin of Autumn Evening from 2020 and passed it around. It was a hit and made multiple passes as pipes were going. Got to bust out my favorite cob for a mid 70's evening, a MM Colonial Gent.

I was the first one up Saturday and enjoyed some quiet time with coffee and Burley Flake No.1 in a C22. Made breakfast for the crew and we headed out for some hiking.

We went to the top of the bluff to see the old fort where we learned about the history, significance of its location and the path changes in the Mississippi River since The Civil War. We then made our way back round to the lake and museum.

I enjoyed a Toscano that evening and the 'ole C&D tin made another pass around.

I was up first again this morning. Coffee with some EMP in my Ropp Stout. Everyone helped eachother get packed up and we all headed home.

Back to real life (till our cruise in October) as we've got a couple weeks to get our house ready for listing on the market before this job change...

I've passed the first third of this bowl of year 2014 Dan Tobacco Hamborger Veermaster in a smooth straight brown 1950 Dunhill 48 bulldog group 4 root briar with a black vulcanite fish tail saddle stem. Ice water and bergs is my drink. Cleaned those pipes. Tomato the Brave showed up, and ate more than usual since he was eating later than usual. He came to me to thank me as he always does, and got a wealth of attention. Every time he walked away, he'd turn around and come back for more. After fifteen minutes or so, he laid in the box for a few minutes, and then decided the green blanket on the couch was more comfortable. He fell asleep mighty fast.

Went to the store and bought a Camacho, as I'm walking out the young kid behind the counter says hold up and slips me this stick here. I don't know who makes it but it's called The Upsetters- Original Rude Boy. I'm through the first 1/3 of it right now and I'm enjoying it a good bit. I didn't think I would like it at first because the thing taste like it's been dipped in sugar. Not my thing at all. It's got like a syrup on the wrapper kinda I guess that makes it taste sweet but it's kinda got this funky Caribbean island thing going on, and it's actually really good. I'm smiling 😁 so it must be a good one.

Lee “Scratch” Perry and The Upsetters. Classic Reggae/ Ska and the inventor of Dub. I don’t know about the Cigars but that has to be the homage.

Didn't know that! Thanks for the cool info. I Know Bob Marley that's about it.
Yeah man, all my years in the Bahamas and Jamaica for diving I kinda developed a Reggae collection of Ska & Culture. Good stuff especially the original pioneers like Augustus Pablo, Perry, King Tubby, The Skatalites and many others. Scratch was grinding up to the age of 85 when we lost him a few years back.

Now smoking year 2019 HU Directors Cut in a straight black sandblast 2 star Ferndown Bark Prince with a cumberland stem. I just found out that my best friend from high school, and the one who introduced me to pipe smoking passed away last year. This pipe is for Steve Parsons, R.I.P.

This is by far the weirdest thing I've ever smoked. My brain don't even know what to do with it. I can't tell if I kinda like it or straight up hate it. It's got a weird aroma to it. It's interesting though. Definitely fun experience, probably would never try again though. Absolutely alien cigar. Not even sure it should be called a cigar. I did enjoy it though, so I'm not hating on it. But this isn't a cigar, especially the back half. Taste like something they would smoke on Star Trek.
