Six-oh boy here we go b-day smoke: freshly popped Marlin Flake in an LJ Peretti Virgin Deluxe (no virgins were harmed in the making of this pipe), Earl Grey tea, sunshine after a thunderstorm last night. All good.

Happy birthday! Great choice of tea, great choice of tobacco, beautiful pipe, beautiful day! All good indeed.

Dawn out of the Peterson Junior bulldog. Dread Pirate Coberts got a ton of mileage today. I need to buy some more cobs to give that fella a rest. In the cob today, after the haunted bookshop cake, I had some more cube cut ‘16 triple play, some 23 cringle flake that I just stuffed in there whole and broke off (excellent method, maybe the best smoke I have ever gotten with that thick flake), and some more haunted bookshop cake. School and work are really whipping me, but I’m making it all happen, and I’m even having a little fun. Going to Vegas next week for a conference, looking forward to smoking on the strip while “enjoying” that singular smell. If you’ve been to the Vegas strip you know the smell I’m talking about. Now smoking year 2021 Watch City Glass Slipper Micro-Batch in a post-2000 straight brown sandblasted Tom Eltang cherrywood with a black acrylic saddle stem. Tomato the Brave did more batting around, kicking and chasing stuff once he got his energy level up. Finally, he wanted out. I'm getting ready to read some baseball box scores.

I don’t post here every time I fire up a bowl, but if it’s a great smoke, or would make a nice photo, then it’s worth pulling out the cellphone. Today was one of those days. The home-made burly cherry was the perfect dryness, the Hardcastle diplomat practically smoked itself, the weather was great after a couple days of rain…even the dog was happy to sit on the lawn without too much attention. I hope everyone had as nice a smoke today as I did.

Not far from finishing this bowl of year 2018 D&R Raccoon’s Accent in a pre-WWII straight smooth brown The Lumberman Special (Comoy’s) with a tapered black vulcanite saddle stem. I brought Daisy the Feral Princess in to eat, and after she did, jumped on my lap, and just jumped down to be near my feet.

Enjoyed a tasty red delicious apple, and am smoking year 2018 D&R Windsail in a smooth straight dark brown family era “Canadian” by Sasieni with a tapered black vulcanite stem. Daisy the Feral Princess nibbled on some dry food and wanted out with the other ferals. Sleepy Suzy was happy to see her go so she could be by my side again.

Now smoking year 2016 D&R Two Timer Gold in a straight, black sandblasted pre-1970 Comoy’s Sunrise Etched Grain straight Liverpool 309 with a tapered black vulcanite stem. I may end the day with this smoke. Tomato the Brave came in for his wet food, and after that, jumped on my lap for attention, and after that, jumped on the couch to snooze. Sleepy Suzy was annoyed by this, but she didn't complain as she often does. She did jump down when Tomato jumped up, and as soon as he jumped down, she got back by my side again.
