Getting ready to watch the broadcast of UFC Fight Night: Nassourdine Imavov vs. Caio Borralho (also known as UFC Fight Night 258 and UFC on ESPN+ 116), taking place at the Accor Arena, in Paris, France. Going to have Cornell & Diehl Palmetto Balkan Small Batch (1879/3000) in a French Delacour Magnum Billiard with a dark, natural, horn stem. The Delacour factory was built in 1893 in Saint Claude, France, and closed around 1960–1962; they also had a London, England factory that was destroyed by fire in 1935. This pipe, being pretty big (at about 10.375" in length, with its generous chamber approximately 1.0" wide x 2.25" deep) provides a relatively lengthy smoke time—however, with Palmetto Balkan not being very dense like Seattle Pipe Club Plum Pudding, and being more ribbon-like, I’ll need to reload the chamber more than once during the six-plus-hour broadcast, which is unfortunate and not preferable, since I don’t like reloading pipes during the fights for fear of missing a split second KO. There’s usually enough downtime between fights that I won’t miss anything significant, but I’d rather have my eyes on the screen.

The larger of my Yenidje tobacco plants has begun to flower. I think I night eait for a few more buds to open up (because they’re so interesting and pretty looking) before I nip them to prevent them from amstealing energy from the leaves.

Last night I was inspired by @Backwoods Briar recent WAYS post, I mixed up a bowl full of Half&Half/Five Brothers, 50/50. It started out good, by mid-bowl it was very good all the way to the bottom. Afterwards I mixed up a small jar full of this blend.

This was my view as I was nearing the end of my smoke. It was a nice way to wind down from a hectic week at work.

PS #91 Danish Export in the Erica System Second XL302 with Savinelli dry system stem this morning (purchased approx 1982). While pondering I noticed that a thin hairline surface crack is developing between two shank fllls that came with the pipe and now are drying out and shrinking. After finishing I slapped some Elmer's Woodfiller on it and will polish off the excess later. I'd like to get another 43 yrs and it would be nice if the pipe could also:ROFLMAO:

Well, I got a couple hours all to myself, and I used it to process some mesquite into roughly rectangular blocks using a table saw that I would describe as borderline antique. Dangerous folly, but I had quite a bit of fun. I’m looking forward to playing with the mesquite more later on. Now I am smoking some XXV Dusk in my new Peterson system deluxe PSB 20FB with some coffee, listening to Dan Carlin’s Hardcore History. Got to get back to school and work later, but the morning has been all mine, and it has been good. IMG_6880.jpegIMG_6879.jpeg

Passing the last third of the last of this tin of year 2024 Edward G. Robinson's Pipe Blend in a 2014 Basil Meadows smooth slight bend squashed tomato with an aluminum band and a black pearl acrylic stem in the military mount style. Everybody's eaten but me. :) Watching the Yankees-Jays game this afternoon. Ice water and bergs is my drink.

Did a set of walking reps under cloudy skies and am close to finishing this bowl of year 2016 D&R Three Sails in a slight bent black pattern etched 1977 Lorenzo Lorsan Sigma level top billiard with a gray swirl acrylic saddle stem. A light mist started a third of the way through my last lap. The ferals saw what was coming, and they couldn't wait to come inside with me. All three have eaten without incident, and are laying about away from each other. I get to eat when this bowl is finished. Back to watching the ball game.
