How is your dad doing and is he still smoking/enjoying any pipes with you?
He’s hanging in there, better than most at 93, thanks.
Some days at better then others, and he’s very thin. He’s threatened to have a cigar with me (he quit cigarettes and picked up a pipe mid-sixties before i was born, went from pipes, to pipes and cigars, then cigars exclusively somewhere in the early eighties).
My stepmom (they’ve been happily married 46+ yrs) shoots that notion down pretty quickly.
He thinks it’s great that I’m so geeked out on pipes since he gave me his last Thanksgiving, but he thinks just about anything I do since I got clean and sober in ‘95 is great!
Grateful I get to spend week with him, unfortunately I don’t know how any more opportunities to do so he has left.

Enjoyed a tasty lunch, and am just finishing this bowl of year 2014 Sutliff 1849 in a medium bend smooth dark brown 1968 Barling 5631 London England TVF billiard silver spigot with a tapered black vulcanite stem. Also enjoyed one of my favorite Columbo episodes with Jack Cassidy as the murderous magician. Lavazza Classico, neat, is my drink on this windy, rainy day.
