Before Dad was admitted into aged care, he would spend time with us so my sister could have a break.
We would sit on the front verandah while I smoked.
He was always curious and would ask questions (repeated often) about my pipes
He was surrounded by the extended family in his last days - lots of stories and laughter about his life. And foibles
Now smoking KBV Merchant Folly beta in a 2002 IMP smooth full bend egg shaped meer with a black acrylic saddle stem. Writing beta notes. Tomato the Brave and Harry the Hairy came in to eat. Harry ate in the kitchen and Tomato ate his wet food in the den. Tomato was extra hungry, too. After they ate, they went out.
Gasparini + C&D Bluegrass — a solid, characterful blend of Bright and Red Virginias, Dark-Fired Kentucky, and Perique. It’s bold, spicy, and earthy, yet smooth when treated with respect. Opinions vary, but I really like its strength and balance.

Near the quarter mark of this bowl of Ken Byron Ventures Mr. Christian’s Brown Flek 2021 in a straight smooth brown 1950s Comoy’s Selected Straight Grain Extraordinaire bulldog 5 with a diamond shape shank and black vulcanite saddle stem. This pipe is from the estate of David Cuneo. Watching Alfred Hitchcock Presents.
First time trying Rattrays Stirling flake. Smoking in my favorite Stanwell. This was an amazing tobacco.
Tonight I mixed the bottom of the jar dregs from Granger, Mixture 79, and GH Rum Flake for a tasty smoke from the Washington cob, and followed up with a bowl of Coniston. Very satisfying indeed. Especially paired with a Boont Amber ale from Anderson Valley Brewing.
My condolences @OzPiper, sounds like he had a heckuva run.

Enjoyed a tasty Snap Dragon apple, and am near the last quarter of this bowl of year 2014 Uhle’s 00 in a 2015 straight smooth dark brown Peterson Irish Harp 150 bulldog with a silver band and a tapered acrylic cumberland fish tail stem. Fed all the ferals. Keeping Harry the Hairy away from the other two took a little time and work. Finally, Harry gave up and went out. Tomato the Brave was right behind him. Daisy the Feral Princess is lying by my feet. Sleepy Suzy is by my side. Molly Danger is on m'lady's chair. She did a lot of staring at the ferals without incident.
