Did a set of walking reps and smoked a bowl of year 2016 D&R Three Sails in a slight bent black pattern etched 1977 Lorenzo Lorsan Sigma level top billiard with a gray swirl acrylic saddle stem. When I came down the hill for my last lap, I saw a dog and Tomato the Brave having a stare down in the middle of the street. I couldn't get close enough to take a photo because the dog's owner came out and told the dog to come to him. I did get a photo of the dog. Tomato stood his ground. I dunno if they'd have fought or not because the dog seemed rather friendly and Tomato isn't a fighter. Tomato was happy to see me just the same.

That dog looks like it would eat Tomato the Brave! I love pitbulls.

Enjoyed a tasty lunch, and am smoking year 2020 Watch City Rouxgaroux in a smooth medium bend 2021 Peterson POTY Natural 4AB No. 6/500 military mount with a silver cap and a tapered black vulcanite AB stem. Gold Star Jamaica Blue Mountain, neat, is my drink. Tomato the Brave and Harry the Hairy came in to eat a little more. Harry went back out. Tomato's snoozin' on m'lady's chair. Got two KBV beta blends in today. Getting ready to clean a few pipes.

Orlik Golden Sliced in the Canasta. I've loaded this pipe a few days ago and left it aside. This blend is even better dried than fresh, I think.
Have a nice Wednesday good people!

I have found your method of preparing a pipe a couple of days ahead of time the best way of drying out tobacco so far, as well. I used a space heater for a while, but putting a bunch of tobacco on a plate in front of one of these contraptions is a good way of losing a lot of expensive fodder if you get clumsy. Been there and done it.

This is good information in your post, and I thank you for posting it. This thread is truly a fantastic place to learn "tricks of the trade" from those that know! :)

Jim, I know you said you were gonna only smoke David's pipes through end of month, but I have noticed most of them you say "first time I've smoked this one" or words to that effect....
Please remind me again how many pipes did you receive from his sister??
50. You misunderstood me, though. I was smoking David's pipes that I hadn't yesterday only, not the rest of the month. They will go in to semi-rotation like most of my pipes are. I still have a few that are cleaned, but haven't decided what to smoke in them. And I have twenty-some that need cleaning. That takes a lot of time to do.

David guessed that he had over 350. Dunno what will happen to them. I offered to help sell them and the mountain of tobacco that he had at no charge, but I never heard back from the family. I did get tobacco, too, including several bags of Penzance, Stonehaven, etc.
