Jim, I know you said you were gonna only smoke David's pipes through end of month, but I have noticed most of them you say "first time I've smoked this one" or words to that effect....Enjoyed a tasty Snap Dragon apple, and am smoking year 2020 D&R VIP in a smooth brown medium bend 1980 Peterson’s sterling silver spigot 314 with a black vulcanite saddle fish tail stem hallmarked at 1979. This pipe is from the estate of David Cuneo. It's the last of David's pipes that I'm breaking today. When I figure out what to smoke in the others I have cleaned, and clean other pipes that David's sister gave me, I'll smoke them, too.

I've had a couple tins of Barbary Coast. I really enjoyed it. That's a great looking pipe too.Peterson Kildare Silver Mounted (X105) P-Lip + GL Pease Barbary Coast
This is probably one of the most controversial blends out there. Opinions range from absolute dislike — “burnt burley with a strange wine note” — to high praise calling it “complex, mature, and deeply satisfying.” And honestly, I can see both sides. Sometimes it smokes smooth, with nutty, fruity, and brandy-like tones, and other times it turns harsh and heavy, especially in the first part of the bowl.
Pros: interesting cube-cut burley base, rich flavor, and great aging potential.
Cons: inconsistent performance, sensitive to packing and moisture, and definitely an acquired taste.
In the end, it’s a real mystery of a blend — unpredictable, moody, but always fascinating.
