Had a great time at the beach today. Caught about a solid 4 hours of direct sun which was easy to do with the heavy breeze. Vitamin D supplements completely unnecessary, unlike in WA state.
Heading down to the smoking spot with some Kendal No.7 in an Ali cherrywood, then finishing off some leftovers for dinner.

Orlik Golden slices in the Savinelli 2614KS Dry System with 6mm filter while texting to an AI computer program to change an appointment date, Wow ! Its really, really remedial. It can't comprehend a complex thought and you have to imput one thing at a time. It took 9 minutes to change the date of an appointment. I suspect AI armageddon will be greatly delayed which is good.

Wow! it has turned into a Gorgeous Afternoon! 70F in the shade on the porch, where I am finishing a tin of The Aperitif in a Mastro de Paja 3AL Egg. I know a dead tin when I see one. This baccy tin has ceased to be. It is bereft of baccy. The contents have gone to meet their maker. It is an ex-baccy tin.
How's that Brian's Beard? I hear there's an occasional cookie crumb in there...

Dug up a big ol acrylic jar full of my very first blend I tried making, 1 pound of Lane Burley light without a bite mixed with 8 ounces of lane 1Q. I have learned so much about smoking since I haphazardly mixed the two tobaccos, but I’ll be damned this just really hits the spot right now. Smoking it out of the little Pete Junior lovat

It is great!! Haven't found any cookie crumbs yet, but I swear I think I found some of last night's pasta salad in there.
It was a rainy late Fall day up here so I took advantage of the pause in yard work to walk my dog around the local lake. I smoked Troost (the Sutcliff match) in an old (1957-1962) Kaywoodie rusticated bulldog. Due to the rain, the pipe was smoked upside-down so that’s how I photographed it.

Just cracked open a jar of Kramer's Father Dempsey that I put up just over 5 years ago. I'm smoking it out of a Kaywoodie shape 07 billiard. It's pretty good, albeit a tad bland. Most of the English blends I'm smoking now are around the same age as this and seemed to have aged a tad more gracefully than this. That said, this seems like a candidate for mindless smoking. It's burning perfectly and tastes fine. There's a good amount of sweetness and a tiny bit of spice that seems to be ramping up as I get further into the bowl.
Earlier, I smoked a bowl of year 2016 Sutliff 507-C Slices in a black sandblast PSB medium bend 2021 Peterson POTY 4AB No. 228/500 military mount with a silver cap and a tapered black vulcanite AB stem. And fed all the ferals without incident.
Currently, I am relaxing after a wonderful salad, chicken legs and sugar snap peas dinner with strawberries for dessert. I'm near the finish of this bowl of Sutliff Cringle Flake (Holiday Edition 2024) in a mid-1970s smooth brown medium bend Ed Burak Connoisseur bulldog with a black vulcanite saddle stem. Community Coffee, neat, is my drink. Watching the Tigers-Mariners game. Daisy the Feral Princess was on my lap for a while so I couldn't post until now. In the second photo, she looked up at the smoke when I relit the pipe.

Man, it really is a good mix. That burley light lends some really interesting flavors from its topping that almost taste like coconut and baked bananas. Really background, mostly you’re getting kind of a cocoa burley situation, but the weird fruits are back there too. And it burns like gunpowder.
