Decided to break up smoking through my tin of XXV Reserve Dusk by opening up my tin of Brothers in Arms.
I don't think there's lat in it, but the tin note almost smelled like a mix of lat and ketchup-y barbeque that reminded me of HH Bold Kentucky. Smoking it though, taste not as strong as the tin note. Thankfully, the DFK comes off more like ODF than Bold Kentucky (I preferred the ODF between those two).
It's mostly a woodier taste that's only mildly peppery mixed with a cocoa-esque very mild sweetness, though occasionally there's a kind of mesquite-smoked taste to it, which is my least favorite kind of barbeque smoke taste (I tend to prefer fruit woods like cherry and apple).
I think maybe the oriental tames the flavor a lot, occasionally there's an extremely mild background hint of floralness from them that I wish shined through a bit more. Leaves an aftertaste in my nose of a smoked black pepper.
It's a really good blend, just not quite my style. It won't be one of my favorites, but I don't hate it either.
