It’s shoulder season in Anchorage: Fall is over and the local lakes are mostly frozen, but still too thin to skate on but no snow in town to ski on. It makes for nice walking when the sun is out, which it was today. I took advantage of the conditions by smoking a burley-based stoved cherry aromatic in a vintage Medico “Double-Dri” system pipe. Very nice!

Yup, were about in the same state of weather up here in Prince George. Time to dust off the .22 and go for some bunnies for the pot . . . they're real easy to see when there is no snow and the bunnies are changing color

Pic is nicely done!

Passing the first third of this bowl of pre-2014 Edward G. Robinson's Pipe Blend in a 2014 Basil Meadows smooth slight bend squashed tomato with an aluminum band and a black pearl acrylic stem in the military mount style. Ice water and bergs is my drink. Fed all the ferals except for the absent Abner the Eager.

Love the little anchor! Any idea who made them, stinger or no, and is it Algerian briar? Will it be a good smoker?

No stinger, just a regular tenon. I’m not entirely sure who made the Captain Black Lane promotional pipes. Dr. Grabow made the Wimbledon pipes available through the brochures that were with Borkum Riff tobacco; I see some overlap with the shapes, so Dr. Grabow might be a possibility. The London made Captain Black pipes were made by Orlik. The pipe smokes perfectly fine like any decently made pipe.
