Pregame cider and Doug Finlay Dublin and Sun Bear Tupelo Honey - I’m having semi-paranoid flashbacks to 1981 and Hayden Fry on national tv (when it meant something) and an agonizing home loss to the gophers! The wife is making sloppy Joes to set my mind right!
It’s an awesome pipe man and once I find one similar I’ll grab it. Plum color blast is just spectacular and being a Castello is just icing on the cake!

1792, but having trouble focusing on it as I'm anxiously awaiting my wife's departure so I can get started working on what I hope will prove to be the greatest advance in smoking enjoyment and tobacco evaluation since the advent of the clay pipe...SEDRHGT*. Here's how it works:
1. Empty a small closet
2. Get some weather stripping and thoroughly seal the gaps around the closet door.
3. Go inside the closet and shut the door.
4. Light up and puff vigorously for 5-10 minutes.
5. Exit the closet, quickly shutting the door behind you.
6. Wait one hour.
7. Reënter the closet and, again, shut the door immediately.
8. Inhale and then exhale through your nose.
That's all there is to it! If my theory is correct, the nuances of the tobacco will reveal themselves as never before...an entirely new vocabulary may have to be developed to describe all the flavor and aroma notes. Assuming it works out as expected, I'll share the technique with the guy on SP with the moth-eaten mustache so he can bring his videos to a new level of sophistication. Wish me luck!

I didn’t pack the BST LC quite as full as I did last time, so I “only” got four hours of smoking time instead of four and a half, but it did get me through both sets of Prelims and to the UFC Main Card which is starting now. As I’ve mentioned in the past, UFC takes place in an octagon shaped ring, so I’m having Savinelli Brunello Flake in a Savinelli Ottagono Due Sandblasted, Eight-sided, Paneled Dublin (number 63/600).
Hearth & Home Signature Classic Burley Kake in a Peterson Irish Harp Sandblasted X105, with a mug of black coffee.
A fine day for some BCF in the flakemaster 3000.
Warped Scarecrow in an SMS Meer in the makeshift smoking tent that will hopefully get me through the coming winter in relative comfort.

Does really well with Virginia’s and for some reason the Canadians are really growing on me. I have a fairly large amount of freehands and bents but I seem to grab the straights more than others.
Getting back to The Dictionary of Obscure Sorrows, a very excellent book I recommend. 
I thought over these entries with a bowl of Cerberus in my Viking 415 Assens Evening. Have you ever felt the Heartmoor or seen others wear the Unsharp Mask?
