Where is a good place to find whole leaf deer tongue? How to you think it would pair along with anise and latakia?
Love the meer also.

I have no idea, probably in a ditch near you. I really like Gentleman Caller, but otherwise know very little about the ditch weed Deer Tongue. I also would have no good opinion of pairings, but if you want I could make it up to sound good. "The smoky flavor of latakia mixes well with the minty highlights of Deer Tongue, and everything tastes better with a little smoking anus mixed in"

I rely on a blender like Jeremy Reeves of C&D who truly knows, and buy Crooner or Gentleman Caller. The taste of Deer Tongue is unique, and a staple in my rotation. I would not smoke it daily, but enjoy immensely on occassion.

I love the skull meer as well, but I do feel a little inadequate compared to @Chasing Embers in the pipe department.... that didn't come out like I meant it.

Did a set of walking reps, and smoked a bowl of year 2016 D&R Three Sails in an undated straight brush etched black Molina apple with a nickel band and a tapered black vulcanite stem. The newbie feral surprised me by showing up in the day time. Abner the Eager chased him away once he ate.

Have woken to grey skies and light rain here today. I'm smoking some Cobblestone Virginia Plug in a little Pete 999 whilst I sip my coffee this morning and plan my day. This tobacco isn't a plug is a crumble cake but its ok taste wise, need to smoke more of it before I really form an opinion.

Your not the only person Ive heard of to burn it , only the most recent.
I have heard of a few who grind it and blend it with crooner or half & half. Im not going to try any ditch weed though. I stand with you on Chasing Embers as his meers are above reproach.

Yesterday: Vintage Pipeworks & Wilke (Carole-Burns-blended) Vermont Maple Cavendish in a Marxman Benchmade briar billiard. It was a pleasantly cool Fall morning, so this tobacco precisely fit the bill. Hot black coffee accompanied us as we savored this new Sunday.

Incidentally, Briar Lee was correct about certain of the Marxman pipe models; I find this one to be a marvelous smoker!

Enjoyed a very late, but tasty lunch, and am smoking year 2000 VaPer Three Nuns in a 1938 straight black grain relief Dunhill OX Shell bulldog with a silver band repair with a black vulcanite saddle stem. Ice water and bergs is my drink.

Heck yeah! That's how it is with alot of things! I have some Marxman estates on the way. I am going to experiment with light restoration so I might get an estate before new to see if I like em. They look great and have heard they are real nice smokers.

Aside from cobs I’ve brought one new pipe out of… well an awful lot. Estates are the way to go imo, you can find some beautiful classics on eBay and a search though the forums will help guide you. Welcome to the PAD Life… cue insane laughter
