Yep, that's finally it.

OT:
The first taste of the Virginia Gold Lemon in my cob. Plucked, rubbed and heated until smokeable.



I had sweeter Virginias but this one has a weird and pleasant taste to it, something I haven't tasted before.
The best description I can come up with is "slightly woody, earthy and mushroomy".
I have to smoke more of it to update my tastebuds.

Last evening the weather dropped to near freezing with very little wind. Smoked Arango Balkan Supreme in a Nording Natural Smooth Freehand. Been trying to break in this pipe and I think it finally is rocking and rolling. The Balkan Supreme I found a bit underwhelming, very latakia dominant that crowded out the virginias and orientals. Did smoke cool and burned very even. Was just a three match night as it took the flame very well.

A yes, the C. G. Jung “Red Book” a deep insight into mankind’s collective un-consciousness, written and drawn by the master-psychologist himself. I twice had a glimpse on the book with a scientist of the German Jung Association on a few chapters. Very interesting stuff in a kind of experimental self exploration of Jung’s psyche over 10 years living in self isolation as far as I remember at a lake in Switzerland. Before he died he closed it up in a Tresor, the essential heritage of all his scientific studies to be opened at the dawn of the 2000 years. Quite mysterious stuff. The Jung-Psychologiy is almost forgotten nowadays. Also a highly philosophical tractate.

Instead scientists nowadays try to explain humans by biological aspects of how their brains work, hormones and stuff. After almost 20 years those have found almost nothing to explain the traits of human spirit further.

Only drawback is the book is a little bit to be xpensive, no paperback available ,-)

@Chaukisch Glad you like it; I think it should smoke well in a clay pipe - and you say it has the earthiness that suits a clay???

Enjoyed an obscene amount of cinnamon raisin French toast with a sliced peach on the side. I've a third of a bowl left of KBV Mr. Christian’s Butterscotch Toddy in a 2003 medium bent Ural meer with a lined and etched egg shaped bowl with a silver band and a pearl brown acrylic saddle stem. Magnum Roastery Jamaican Blue Mountain, neat, is my drink. Working on a review of this blend as I watch the Rays-Guardians play in the 11th inning. No score, great pitching and fielding.
