Trying out a sample of G. L. Pease Gaslight, part of a gift from @Streeper541. (I actually have an unopened tin of this in the drawer, waiting until I had smoked through some of my open stuff, so this was a nice preview of what I had in store!)

Plugs are still pretty new to me; my first attempt at packing the bowl was to peel off a thick layer of the plug and rub it out, resulting in a lot of big "fish food" pieces that made it tougher to light and required a bunch of intervention throughout. Some dottle was left since a solid mass formed at the bottom. But despite my mistakes, the flavors were strong and wonderful! After doing some reading about plugs, I'll try cutting off a slice and rubbing that out next time.

And yet a third bowl of Coniston/Derringer. This time in my old Peterson smooth #313 with vulcanite p-lip stem. A glass of brandy to wet my whistle. I bought a pound of Coniston Cut Plug during the last drop and I really love the flavors. Great stuff, but now out of stock at Smokingpipes.

Relaxing after a wonderful salad, big tuna steak and sugar snap peas dinner with strawberries for dessert. I'm smoking Wilke No. 515 in a smooth dark medium bend 2021 Peterson Heritage Brown POTY 4AB No. 45/500 military mount with a silver cap and a tapered black vulcanite AB stem. This was the blend Basil Rathbone smoked. Watching The Bishop Murder Case starring Basil Rathbone even if he doesn't smoke a 4AB in this movie. Ice water and bergs is my drink.
