Midway through a bowl of 2019 Escudo in my Dr Grabow Omega. This pipe has seen a lot over the years, so I cleaned the shank and stem with fluffy pipe cleaners dipped in 100-proof vodka last night, which definitely seems to have helped. Today I'm focusing on sipping gently enough not to feel a "breeze" in my mouth. Old habits are tough to break!
I usually don't smoke aromatics, but this was on sale at Pipes and cigars for $4.36. I thought I would give it a try; not bad and she doesn't mind the smoke or smell. I was expecting a wet smoke and gurgle with the rain, but I didn't even have to use a pipe cleaner.
Not far from finishing this bowl of year 2014 Edward G. Robinson's Pipe Blend in a 2014 Basil Meadows smooth slight bend squashed tomato with an aluminum band and a black pearl acrylic stem in the military mount style.
Did a set of walking rep, and am close to finishing this bowl of year 2016 D&R Three Sails in an undated straight brush etched black Molina apple with a nickel band and a tapered black vulcanite stem.
After Noon, Bowl of Arango Balkan Supreme in the Barontini 1/2 spigot bent billiard (20mmx52mm) .... a bit strong but tasty ... Wow ! if you want to build up a carbon layer of thick fine white ash use this tobacco ...the ash is like a dry paste and clings to the chamber. Very nice.
My SRV blend with a sprinkling of White Burley in an Upshall Dublin.
There was some heavy char in one corner of the bowl with some damage to the front outside that appeared to be from kissing the concrete or a driveway. A little knifing to the back rim also. I topped the bowl lightly and re-stained.
Enjoyed a very tasty eight slices of cinnamon raisin French toast with a sliced peach on the side. I've about half a bowl left of GLP Bankside in a medium bend fumed tan crackled year 2020 Ahmet Govem reverse calabash meerschaum with a military mount silver band and black acrylic stem. Putting what may be the finishing touches on this review. Gold Star Panama, neat, is my drink. Watching Mad Dog Russo.
Smoking some Rattray's Hal o'The Wynd in my Savinelli (just figured out the brand) pot. Going to follow that up with some Marlin Flake in my Peterson 03.
