First run at filet mignon sous vide is well underway, wife was kind enough to go get ingredients for the gorgonzola sauce (she's in charge of the wild rice and broccoli) - working on a nice dinner for before the goblins start showing up. Trying to decide whether to enjoy a bowl before dinner or after. In the meantime, things are ready - Wilke Vermont Maple Cavendish is out and drying to be ready for the Nording 2020 Cheetah (which other than my amazing @cramptholomew pipe) is becoming my favorite pipe of the rest of the bunch.
The right thing to do is smoke before AND after dinner. Nice looking pipe!
Sutliff French Quarter in a Savinelli Mattone 601 bent billiard. Not used to course cut, but it smoked just fine. Bird report: California scrub-jay, Steller's jay, California thrasher, Dark-eyed junco, Mountain chickadee, White-breasted nuthatch, Common raven, House finch, California towhee, Band-tailed pigeon, and one female Western bluebird. About a third of a bowl left of Ken Byron Ventures Verg 21 in a straight smooth brown 1920s (Comoy’s) Lions Head 123 pot with a black tapered vulcanite stem. Zooming with a few pipe buddies.

Now smoking year 2013 Stonehaven in a straight black sandblasted 1957 Barling Exel 249 Fossil T.V.F. black billiard with a silver banded military mount and a black ebonite tapered stem.
Peterson Royal Yacht in an Iwan Ries house pipe sourced from Edwards Benton series, a Group 5 smooth Canadian shape in a light walnut stain, from the early 2000's. This is a full-sized pipe that is surprisingly light weight for its size. I'm getting toward the bottom of this tin of RY, but I believe I have the Dunhill version somewhere in my stash. They are pretty much identical, being made by he same outfit.
Warped Scarecrow in a MM Little Devil Cutty. Musta really got lost in this one because for probably the first time, I smoked it till it went out and when I dumped the bowl it was the elusive "fine white ash" that apparently happens in the real world.
Found a several year old tin of War Horse Green in the bowels of the cellar. Smoking it in another relic dug from the deep recesses of the pipe closet, a Marlborough 399 bent billiard.
Do you mean smoking it in the pipe? It does look a bit like a stack of Escudo coins. I could try but it would probably only just be easier to keep lit than Dark Star.
