Again, Peterson Irish Flake, in a Johs freehand tomahawk with plateau on the brim and shank, a Christmas gift from my wife in 2010. I'm learning the gravity packing method that is working better than tamping, leaving some air in their for the burn. Irish Flake has been a real pleasure after having the tin around for several years; where has it been all my life? Thanks to members for getting me in step with this particular flake, and the force of gravity.

I have been rather bogged down with endless legal sh*t and I have neglected my posting duties! I have a few open tobacco's to finish up so I thought I would kick my Sunday off with a bowl of XX Black Twist in a meerschaum 'cutty' whilst I answer a few emails from forum friends.

Made a clay pipe of Special Virginia last 12 minutes before it went out on me; I must still be puffing a bit too hard as my clay pipe of baccy burned rather than smouldering. It went down well though!
Dan you have got to slow down a bit lad. If you keep this speed smoking stuff up we will have to get you an asbestos cover for your tongue boy. You are meant to enjoy smoking a pipe as opposed to emulating a freight train!!

I wasn't speed smoking, 10-15 minutes is normal for me!
Good to hear from you again.

Not far from finishing this bowl of year 2016 D&R Three Sails in a smooth straight late 1970s Charatan Special 4148DC Reg. No. 203573 pot with a black double comfort vulcanite stem. Lunch is next! Ice water and bergs is my drink on this beautiful Fall day.

I had so much Argentine Criollo twist I thought I'd experiment with it. We have a kumquat bush in the garden which gave lots of fruits this year. As they are very pungent I put some of the skin inside a tupperware along with some of the rubbed out twist and left it to infuse.
A few months later and it's tasting wonderful....a strong tobacco taste with a orange/citrus background. Smoking it in the Hardcastle's bullcap.
