Is that where you breathe in through your nose and blow out through the pipe?
One of the Lace Wars re-enactors taught me to blow through the pipe every few puffs and this has helped but not enough!
Is it correct that when you breathe in through your nose the smoke still enters your mouth?
Also, which would impress a Cavalier or Redcoat more, smoking a clay pipe the quickest or the longest?
I don’t really breathe through my pipe any more than is incidental to the act of breathing through my nose.
And I reckon a soldier on rations would try to make his tobacco last, so slow would be my guess.

Having some St Bruno Ready Rubbed in my meer hobby block, with a Reed’s ginger beer to drink.
