I have no answer for you on that. I told Hans last Fall about the change in Director's Cut, but he said he didn't notice a difference. But I am not the only one who has noticed the change. I'm curious what his response will be, and if he believes me, maybe he can do something about it. I certainly hope he can.How much control does Hans now have? Really a sad developer if it can not be reversed.
Yes, from 1997. Always available, always priced less than McC Brown label Virginia’s of comparable vintage. But those who avoid the “secondary” market for ideological reasons should continue to do so lest either or both of those statements cease to be true.I see Oriental #14 back there. To my taste, it’s one of the greatest McC creations, and one that I miss - always unsung and available.
I’m smoking Dark Plug in a Castello.
Blenders are dependent on larger fish for their ingredients.I have no answer for you on that. I told Hans last Fall about the change in Director's Cut, but he said he didn't notice a difference. True. PH Curly Block and PH No.30, and many of the Astley's blends have changed, too. Thanks for that input Jim, appreciated. I am decidedly *not* a pipe tobacco super-taster so am often quicker to point the finger at my taste buds than the blend......but that more recent tin-batch of Makhuwa was flat out lousy to me. I'm not sure if that blend was a big seller....but changing the taste profile on Directors Cut seems a bit bold. I can easily imagine boutique blends struggling to source high-quality leaf as demand ramps up....but squelching on Perique? Unless there's been some import/levy increases, don't think that is a source that's been drying up.
Get while the gettin' is good folks, you never know when your favorite blend will head south!
That's a great song, but Arlo did not write City of New Orleans. Steve Goodman did. John Denver did a terrible version of it. He rewrote parts of it so he could list his name as a co-song writer, and collect some of Goodman's royalties. Shameful! The pipe is a Ser Jacapo Jucunda.

Only saw him once, but the experience was much like this.
IMNSHO, the best cover of what I will always consider the greatest song he wrote was the way Willie did it live as part of The Highwaymen.
Huzzah! For the Condor, the Falcon and the stout!!Having some Condor not in the Sasieni One Dot but the black Falcon..... think it tastes better in the Falcon. A German dark stout to wash it down with.
