I jarred all the HU with the more prominent DFK and six years has mellowed it to some extent. However, it's still noticeable and doesn't have the balance that the original had, which was superior to the later version.

In 2019, I pointed this out to DC creator Hans Weidermann, and he got K&K to temper the DFK a little. I don't know what it is like now. Is what you're smoking from recent tin?
Yes, it is, Jim. Very recent acquisition. I'm thinking the DFK presence is a good thing. I really enjoyed it.

With the bad weather we've had, once I got the horses cared for, I had a bowl of another "new for me" blend. That being HU Janneman Flake. I smoked it in my Kaywoodie Zulu. It was too dark for a photo so I'm posting one I made a month ago.
The blend was very pleasant and I think it will be another one that I go to regularly. An interesting note on the back side of the tin was that it was dedicated to the "father of the Pipe Smokers Forum."
I found out a little bit online about Janneman, but do any of you "wizened" pipers out there know more about Janneman??

Relaxing after a wonderful salad, cod and snow peas dinner with strawberries for dessert. I'm smoking year 2014 Edgeworth Ready Rubbed Match In a black sandblasted full bend 2025 Rinaldo YY Lithos dublin with a tapered amber tortoise shell acrylic stem. First time smoking this pipe that I got today. I was looking for another pipe with a big bowl as the year 2018 Peterson XL315 I used to smoke it in had the hole at the bottom just above it. Got tired of wasting tobacco so I retired the pipe even though it's a very good smoker. Community Coffee, neat, is my drink. Fed all the ferals earlier without incident.
