Tobacco Review: Some Notes on Dan Tobacco's 50th Year Jubilee Tobacco:
As I promised, I'd present a review of this tobacco I recently purchased. This review will consist of two parts, an introduction today and the review tomorrow. I don't know if any of you are familiar with this vintage offering, but I suspect there are a few that are, so I'm going to add my observations to what you already know
I'd never heard of it, and when it showed up at the Reserve Store I frequent for $41.00 Canadian per tin, I bought one on spec. It arrived about four days later, and after putting it in a test pipe, my recently aquired Peterson Tavern Pipe, (my go-to and favourite company pipe) I immediately went back and ordered another tin. Then the fun began. I loaded up a bowlful, and frankly, I was blown away. Below the picture of this august pipe and tobacco, is an old promo profile I found and downloaded for your perusal. I'm going to keep this introduction short, and continue tomorrow, leaving you with what I feel a lot of you will find quite fascinating.

Now, if that profile reminds you somewhat of "Mad Fiddler," you'll be exactly right. I've not found any tobacco that tastes so similar to MF, at least not in my experience. Thus began a 4 day adventure that is not only interesting, but for me, the answer to many prayers and wishes. I've got other photos and data to assemble so I'll continue tomorrow.
