Relaxing after a wonderful salad, halibut and snow peas dinner with strawberries for dessert. I'm part way through this bowl of year 2019 HU Directors Cut in a straight smooth brown undated (1940s?) Orlik Reject London Made 0 bulldog with a black vulcanite saddle stem. Picked a bigger pipe than the Comoy's prince that I usually smoke it in to better gauge how much the DFK may have diminished in six years. I'll dedicate this pipe to this blend since I have a lot of it. Community Coffee, neat, is my drink.

KC, please let us know if that sharpener does any good at putting an edge on your knife. I never got a really good edge using one similar.
Im still figuring it out , i haven’t gotten the technique down yet. I will report back. I have got a couple kitchen knives sharp but not scalp sharp. I think its a technique thing.

“Scalp sharp” is a wonderfully evocative phrase.
Those unguided sharpeners are hard to get down, but I think well worth it. My first cooking job, chef had me sharpen the house knives with a set of three stones. It took me almost half a year before I started getting approval from the knive’s daily users, those being esteemed members of the front of house. After a year, he let me sharpen his knives, once.
Keep at it!

A third of a bowl left of year 2014 Edgeworth Ready Rubbed Match in a very much appreciated 1979 brown, slight bend grain etched flat front Stanwell Rego 969-48 (09) with a black vulcanite saddle stem. The cats have been quiet tonight.

Yep this. The knives I sharpened are good enough for my pocket knife or my home kitchen knives but would be laughed at by anyone that knows what they are doing.
