Just finished decorating the tree with the wifey. Now she is on to the rest of the house. I was able to sneak out and grab a pipe. Having a bowl of GLP Barbary Coast in a Pete 12.5. I forgot how much I enjoy this blend. Might need to stock up on this one. 16CDC3A3-DA30-4269-BD5F-811EC753E71B.jpegMy smoking buddy enjoying the sunshine.

Some virginia on the back porch. I thought I saw a small dear or fox on the other side of the back rock wall... it stood up and turned out to be a full grown mountain lion walking the dear trail into my neighbor's yard. Huge legs and paws and front shoulders; I'm guessing 60-65ibs. After it was out of sight I could tell whose yard it was in by whose dogs were barking hysterically ! Pretty wild (pun intended) !

Most of you know that I’m a big fan of Savinelli and its rich history. Many of you know the company was founded in 1876, and that Achille Savinelli, Sr. and his siblings opened shops in both Milan and Genova (Genoa). This is a Savinelli Meerschaum Tirolean with cherry shank and horn stem with orific bit (and cork mortise) from the shop run by Angelo Savinelli located at Galleria Mazzini 31 in Genova, Italy, probably from the late 19th or early 20th Century. Savinelli 140° (2022 Edition, No. 1358/2800) seems an appropriate blend to have in it.

Here’s a vintage postcard showing the storefront at Galleria Mazzini.
