1792 in a clay, this year old batch of 1792 is a bit weird, there’s a very distinctive odour of rose water like you find on Grassmere (if I remember correctly) and it’s quite foul. I brought a 500g bag and it’s not over the entire lot but enough to overpower the Tonquin and I have to smell my way through it to find tobacco untainted by rose.View attachment 261040 I’m not sure what to do with it, I might just put it in a bowl and cover it with rum for a few days before drying it out again. Any suggestions?
Thanks! Like lots of things, wish I knew with the first dog I trained years ago what I know know, lol. They keep me young (or so I think), but I'm old enough that realistically if the younger dog has a full life, she'll be the last hunting puppy I'll get and train from scratch (optimistically, I should still be able to keep up with a good started/trained dog in 10-12 years so not ready to say she's our "last" dog, but can't say the thought doesn't enter my mind).Good job on the training. Made me miss my Brittanys something fierce reading this. Too old to keep up with active hunting dogs now. Have fun with yours.

Interesting looking lighter, what is it? I don’t think I’ve seen one like it before.Very much enjoying some McClelland Mature Cake in the meer lined 1955 (only year with the meer lining) Kaywoodie All Briar and a little spirit to warm me up and clear my head. View attachment 260575
A sense of how big this Satou isWell at least my tobacco actually drys down in this weather. Stoved Veermaster with extra Perique in a Satou.
