Wessex Gold Virginia Flake in an Altinay. Just taken photo of the Altinay, very slow to color. Somewhere greater than 500 bowls smoked in this pipe. But it smokes my morning blend Virginia Flakes superbly so I'm not throwing it away.

That does seem to be slow to color with that many bowls through it! But if it’s smoking well, then it’s all good, right? Just like with briar - “you can’t smoke grain,” I suppose with meers “you can’t smoke the color” … I’ve been watching for an Altinay meer to pick up, and every time I see you post yours it reminds me to keep looking. Haha! Thanks for posting the update, great to see.

Hermes is one of the cheapest parcel delivery services. They pay only a few bucks to their drivers for each delivered package. No matter what time it takes, to get the work done in their own cars.

Another bad one is GLS. Years ago I just waited four weeks for a package of some value from the UK. It seemed to be vanished from this planet.

GLS told me it already had been delivered. After some phone calls, they found it in a distribution centre.

The driver wasn’t able to identify our house as Nr. 1 in a small street with only two houses. The other one was Nr. 10 at the opposite. So he couldn’t leave any information, he was there.

Clearly visible was my phone number on that package, the driver could have called, but gave a shit. I suppose he had to much packages left in the car for the rest of the day, to care about that disturbing one.

Smoking Perique-Cones in a Kiko, this early afternoon. Looking forward to a piece of British fruit cake, and the coffee grinder to brew a fresh one, Bohnenkaffee.
In the past I have encountered some frustrating situations with the aforementioned services as well, in Finland, their customer service is non-existent

Almost half way through this bowl of year 2014 Edward G. Robinson's Pipe Blend in a 2014 Basil Meadows smooth slight bend squashed tomato with an aluminum band and a black pearl acrylic stem in the military mount style. Watching Mad Dog Russo.

OT:
I'm finally feeling back at some love.
Gonna puff some of the Virginia Latakia Bright. This might seriously become one of my standard smokes,
it's just that one leaf that was simply cut up but its taste is really far out.

It’s a kind of home brewed “Squadron Leader” I think. Last time I got my hands on it I paid around 23 $ for the usual small tin.

I nearly pulled the trigger on a lovely Altinay the other day, carving a bit the same but a bent pipe and then I remembered yours. Wonder why some of these pipes just don’t colour at all, even the shank hasn’t, just another mystery from the pipe smoking world I guess.
