Modern scholarship now proves he was right and ahead of his time as a detailed accurate translator and scholar who backed Origen's theories. (He didn't suffer fools well though - bit of short fuse.) There are English translations.I don't know which pipes these are going into yet, but I'm prepping a bowl of Peterson University Flake and a bowl of C&D Burley Flake #2 for the long night ahead. Maybe it depends on the density of the material, If there are channels in the internal pores with lower density, the color will be painted faster.I nearly pulled the trigger on a lovely Altinay the other day, carving a bit the same but a bent pipe and then I remembered yours. Wonder why some of these pipes just don’t colour at all, even the shank hasn’t, just another mystery from the pipe smoking world I guess.
