I also thought that there would be more honey and lemon flavor, the flakes in the jar smell great but they easily get overpowered by the Black Cavendish. I should've simmered the mead down with honey and lemon peel, that would've made a better sauce. I'll try some other mixtures and maybe even soak the flakes again.

Sounds good to me; hope it turns out like you hope it will. Did you enjoy it in the clay pipe?

It’s been a busy week with a new addition to my little family here. I picked up the most adorable puppy who I’ve named WeBay, anyone familiar with The Wire will know the name.
Not been smoking very much around him and he’s too little to leave alone for long, he like’s chewing stuff and I’m a little paranoid about my pipes.

I’ve also been working my way through the Tilshead’s and am having New Mix in this 6 1/2” beauty, they all smoke well and I couldn’t be happier with them, very very carefully smoked by the previous owner too.

Could be, but it's not. I have stopped drinking alcohol before 5 years, 7 months and 27 days (today).
So, it's sour cherry juice, brown sugar and a Gluhwein mix, a greek product, more info here.

The Glühwein-Mixture looks great. Their Shaman-Tea also seems to be nice.

What is the material between the shank and the stem? Is it some kind of stone or spalted wood?

That pipe has grain that makes it look like a Castello Great Line Collection grade. Can't imagine why the carver didn't put their name on it.
