Pegasus in a Ruthenburg. First bowl ever of this blend, got the tin in today. Popped it and let the lid off to allow it to breathe for a few hours. Packed and applied flame, first puff harsh like a cigarette. The first third to half bowl okay, plenty of smoke and the nicotine was decent. Unpleasant after taste. Suddenly, the blend turned quite sweet and a bit creamy, enjoyable Where did that come from? I'm going to let this tin sit for a few weeks and revisit. If I can figure out how to get the entire bowl to smoke like the second half, it's a keeper. I'm thinking I may have packed too loose and the first half burnt too fast, not sure.

Not going to lie - capping night with OJK white. 2017 tin from B&M checks a ton of boxes. Probably heading down there tomorrow or Thursday to check the stash. Yes, I’m going to flip every tin to see the sticker. ?‍♂️

Got some good news and having a late evening quiet celebration - dug out some aged 25 years Old Pulteney from Wick, and about to light some Wilke Peanut Butter and Chocolate in the vintage Barclay-Rex Pot "sitter" I just received this week from Steve Laug. I have high hopes for the above combination!

About a third of a bowl left of Watch City Simply VOriental in a straight smooth medium brown 1930s Wilshire 5 bulldog (Comoy’s second) made for John’s Pipe Shop in Los Angeles with a black vulcanite saddle stem. Ice water and bergs is my drink. Working and listening to the World Series post-game show. Congrats to the Braves!

A quarter of the way through this bowl of a freshly opened tin of year 2007 Astley’s No. 109 in a smooth brown straight circa 1950s-60s BBB Contrast 506 Canadian with a tapered black vulcanite stem. First time smoking this beautiful pipe.

I've had a similar experience. I tried hitting it with a food processor contraption to make the cut finer and meld better. Seemed to work.

I found it was way too inconsistent, and I usually don't care about consistent.
