I’m curious, what the qualifications for a “low quality leaf” ? I never encounter a low quality pipe tobacco.
For me it's a bit rough, harsh and yet has no discernable tobacco flavor. Insipid.

Enjoyed a tasty lunch, and am almost a third of the way through this bowl of aged Rattrays Hal O’ The Wynd in a straight smooth brown pre-1952 (Comoy’s) Corinthian De-Luxe 126 pot made for Sutliff in San Francisco with a black tapered vulcanite stem. Ethical Bean Sweet Expresso is my drink.

Old Dark Fired in a Vauen followed by a 50/50 mix of Lane 1Q and BCA in a Stanwell anniversary.

Getting a bit chilly so I fired up a propane salamander I got for the garage (30-60K BTU). Took the edge off on low pretty darn quick, allowing me to enjoy Kramer's blend for Carey Grant in a Dagner cob.
Enjoyed a tasty navel orange, did a set of walking reps, and have about a quarter of a bowl left of year 2015 Seattle Pipe Club Deception Pass in a smooth straight brown late 1930s Linkman’s Dr. Grabow Deluxe Bruyere 9708B pot with a nickel accent and a black tapered vulcanite stem. Ice water and bergs is my drink.
McC's Dark Star in a slightly bent saddle stem smooth Savinelli Aurelia pot 122. I'm about half way through the tin. I'll have to try another of my good but long neglected Va/Per tins when I finish this.
