About a third of a bowl left of circa year 2000 Edward G. Robinson's Pipe Blend in a 2014 Basil Meadows smooth slight bend squashed tomato with an aluminum band and a black pearl acrylic stem in the military mount style.
A third of the way through this bowl of year 2015 D&R A.P. Rimboche in a smooth dark brown, medium bend late 1950s Parker Super Bruyere 45 with a “4” in a circle billiard with a black vulcanite tapered stem. This ought to get me to lunch time. Ice water and bergs is my drink.
Whiskey Biscuit Gravy, from Just for Him, sample courtesy of a fellow member, packed for later, in a Parker Cherrywood shape poker blast, not quite a nose warmer, but compact. Good old London-made pipe.
Samuel Gawith St James Plug. I have not smoked any recent production St James flake, but the plug is outstanding. Very sweet with plums and figs throughout the entire bowl. This is definitely on the buy more list.
Enjoyed a tasty lunch, and just finished smoking year 2008 H&H Louisiana Red in a 2003 medium bend Nording 4 rough top sitter with a small rusticated area at the top left and a black vulcanite stem.
Presbyterian in Peterson SH Professor. While loading the pipe, noticed well dried tobacco has more friction against the chamber wall. This means, you don't need a big pinch to do Frank method. But, I stopped using Frank method some time ago. An issue with me is, when using Frank method, I load tobacco more tightly. Draw is fine, but stuffing tobacco tightly gives stronger flavor. I'm finding I like lighter flavor in my smoke.
Now smoking year 2016 D&R Three Sails in a smooth straight late 1970s Charatan Special 4148DC Reg. No. 203573 pot with a black double comfort vulcanite stem. Time to do some walking.
