Still raining... Cabbie's Mixture in the Butz-Choquin 'Balzac', using the non-churchwarden stem option supplied. The curvature, I find, is perfect to let the pipe hang for a gentle hands-free smoke. Drier now, the Cabbie's is reminding me of heavily salted chips doused in malt vinegar. This is great if you like malt vinegar on your chips: personally I don't, but it was - interesting, altogether more harmonious and the Perique-shriek somewhat muted. But I won't be sad when the Cabbie's is finished.

Grateful on this Sunday morning to be enjoying some Stockton Roll Cake in a Peterson Short Army Pot with coffee, and for this pipe community which adds immeasurably to the experience--every day!

After a blustery cold night, we have full sun and nearly no wind.
Sitting on the south patio basking in the sun while I enjoy MB London Mixture in a Vintage House of Robertson bent Billiard, made for Walt etched on the stummel. A cup of strong black coffee goes so well with this blend.

Got some sourdough bread proofing and just finished putting a dry rub/cure on some lamb belly to smoke as bacon in three days.
