Robert McConnell Black & Gold in a clay.
I won it in the Nottingham Pipe Show raffle.
Scored 227 points axe throwing yesterday & 146 on Saturday. Free pint of Real Ale at the Neptune & got bought one as well.
Been out for pub meal & pint today; not going anywhere tomorrow due to the yellow weather warning.

Enjoyed a tasty lunch, and am passing the quarter mark of this bowl of year 2020 Watch City Rouxgaroux in a smooth medium bend 2021 Peterson POTY Natural 4AB No. 6/500 military mount with a silver cap and a tapered black vulcanite AB stem. Gold Star Hawaiian Kona Extra Fancy Dark Roast, neat, is my drink. Watching the original Night Court.

Cracked open a tin of Warped Scarecrow. Seemed appropriate to put it in a cob so I pulled out my MM Cobbit Shire and loaded up.
This is a very unusual blend. At first, I tasted primarily caramelized sugar with a definite burly nuttiness. Some have mentioned that it tastes like candy corn but for me, caramelized sugar over burly was the predominate flavor.
At mid bowl I must have hit a patch of Virgina because I got bready, floral hay like flavor of bright Virgina and at that point the blend came together with a bit reduced and darkened sweetness and the burly tone came back in with the addition of what seemed to be an apple flavor that remained the rest of the bowl.
At the very end I did notice a slight nicotine hit.
The aftertaste was definitely baked apples and remained on my palette for quite a while.
I have never smoked an apple flavored blend which makes me curious, any suggestions for a good quality apple aromatic would be appreciated.
The cake is very dense, I sliced off a couple of flakes and then it crumbled very easily. It packed and burned perfectly and remained surprisingly cool especially considering the sugar content.
This is not an all-day or everyday smoke, but it is an excellent dessert blend and if complex aromatics are your thing give this stuff a try.

Did a second set of walking reps, and smoked a bowl of year 2015 D&R A.B. Rimboche in an undated slight bend, smooth flame grain Wessex Standard egg with a brown accent on the black vulcanite saddle stem. Tomato the Brave kept coming out to me for attention, and followed me in to eat. Now, he's laying on my right foot. Sleepy Suzy is by my side. Everybody else is snoozin'.

Almost a third of the way through this bowl of year 2020 Mac Baren Scottish Mixture in a straight, smooth brown 1960s Lane era Charatan Special 38 bulldog with a black vulcanite saddle stem. Ice water and bergs is my drink. Tomato the Brave is still laying on my foot, but now he's snoring.
