Yep, it’s probably my fanciest pipe, all Eltang snails have pretty exceptional grain though in case you want to snag one! Then there are double snails and grade M which is out of my price range! 😂
Oh man those are gorgeous pieces but well out of my price range. I’m more of a machine pipe kind of guy as with the way I treat my pipes. If I had a really nice one, like one of yours, I just think I wouldn’t be able to take care of it the way it deserves to be.

Start of the last week before I’m off until December, and it’s nice that it’s a three day week to boot!
I guess I’m getting my cadence down much better, this bowl of Peterson’s The Royal Yacht has been wisping away in my Sportsman 87 for an hour now…

Have a great day, unless you’ve made other plans!

Oh yeah, the drive across the reservation was Ryback in the Brairlee Illustrious.

Midday pipe: shot a squirrel trying to make a home under our roof, swept and bagged leaves. Where the hawthorn, birch and apples have left off, pear and mulberry have taken over. Winters are usually mild here, but I had a premonition this morning that in a month's time I'll be shovelling copious amounts of snow. Reward-smoke of the lovely Robert McConnell's Scottish Cake in the rusticated Jersey Elliott of uncertain arboreal origin. Great little smoker. Black coffee by way of a wet. Incidentally, I find that lighting a fat candle saves on matches: one just relights a spent match and, if it's a little breezy, dipping it in the molten wax first helps it stay alight.
