@SmokeyJock - Neither do we (and we don't much care for fireworks anyway). Have you tried a plug-in pheromone diffuser, such as Feliway? These worked well to keep ours calm, while we lived in the big city and Diwali celebrations extended the pyrotechnic cacophony for about a fortnight (not to mention New Year's Eve and the occasional birthday bash). Now we're on the furthest edge of a small market town the noises are muted and we only get the very occasional fallout, as described earlier.
I had never heard of them but I will be looking into it now, thank you!!

- There's something else you might also want to consider: This stuff: https://thttps://thepharmpetco.co.uk/
Our vet recommended it when we moved house on the rather lengthy trip to where we are now. Spraying the cats' bedding inside their carrying cases kept them zonked out and tranquil for an hour or so, and then a puff of the spray every subsequent hour once they started complaining again, and finally in the house when we arrived. Works on dogs and horses, too. I was doing the driving and it even worked on me :)

First snowfall up here and I am smoking odf in a 1971 LBs bruyere billiard. It has been busy and chaotic around here with the kitchen and bedroom renovations… may you in the States be granted wisdom in your decision today!
