Well, that was a nice surprise... when curiosity got the better of me and I ordered a sample of Sam Gawith's 1792, I also ordered some Charatan Black Flake, just to make the postage worthwhile. Smoked in this Futura half bent rusticated Dublin, it was like meeting Peterson's Irish Flake's more introverted, sombre older brother. Strong and silent type to start with, but once you get acquainted, he really grows on you and bestows bittersweet dark chocolate (the 90% cocoa kind) and zesty preserved yuzu fruit. Wow.
