Sutliff 507-c in my 43 yr old Savinelli 2614 Dry System pipe which had developed a few micro-pits which were emitting some heat ... so last night I slapped some wood filler on them in a haphazard manner; this morning I damp sponged off the excess and tested the pipe. No more heat emissions. I will use a stain marker to hide the tan wood filler spots. Looking forward to another 43 years ! ;) (Yeah, I know I could buy another one but what's the fun in that when this one's fine ???!)

Almost a third of the way through this bowl of year 2024 Edward G. Robinson's Pipe Blend in a 2014 Basil Meadows smooth slight bend squashed tomato with an aluminum band and a black pearl acrylic stem in the military mount style. Fed Sleepy Suzy and Molly Danger. Going to check on the ferals after I post this smoke. Watching the Braves-Phillies game. Ice water and bergs is my drink.

Now don't tell me that just cause you missed out on yesterday's smoke, you're gonna double up and smoke in tandem..... :col:

Or, maybe you load in the morning and then just grab and light through the day... Either way, interesting.
Lol well yeah kinda! I didn't get to smoke at all yesterday. I don't usually pre load pipes, but keeping an eye on my little one outside I don't like to run in the house to pack another. I just bring a couple loaded. My kids will play outside all day if I let em.

Here's a catch-up post from yesterday. First of all, the night before's significant post which I was too tired (read fell asleep) to write up. I'll post this monring's smoke in about half an hour or so - have a few pressing chores to do.

Smoked the recently arrived Savinelli 140 Anniversary Tobacco (I bought 2 - 4 ounce tins about two weeks ago) in my "long stemmed" MM Minicob, which had been broken in with the usual couple of bowls of Smokers' Pride Whiskey and a couple of bowls of a mild cherry - was worried about crossover with such a delicate and varied tobacco as the Sav.

But, had the best smoke I've had since I got waylaid with The Infection. Not going to tell u the tastebuds are back to 100%, but they're getting close. This tobacco is absolutely delightful, Got more than a hint of it's inherent delicacy, and more variety in taste than I've experienced since this "thing" started. I'm quite frankly thrilled, and this will most definitely be one of my 4 go-to fodders when I want a more leisurely smoke. If you can snag a tin or three of this stuff, I'd say go for it. And y'all know I lean toward bold. This stuff is special!

Oh yeah, I'm now an official member (a tip of the hat to OnePyroguy - I snitched a snap of his pic from yesterday. 😁 Be back in a while with yesterday's outing.

Did a set of walking reps on this cloudy, very humid day, and am close to finishing this bowl of year 2016 D&R Three Sails in a slight bent black pattern etched 1977 Lorenzo Lorsan Sigma level top billiard with a gray swirl acrylic saddle stem. Daisy the Feral Princess was laying on the deck steps as she often does when I go for a walk. Harry the Hairy stood driveway guard. Dunno where the others are. Put the ball game on pause so I wouldn't miss anything while walking. Lunch follows this smoke.
